The Benefits of Having a One Cup Coffee Maker

I remember when the one cup coffee maker came out on the market. I kind of laughed at the idea originally. It was mainly because of the fact that I do not know very many people who are avid coffee drinkers who need a coffee maker, but only drinks one cup. However, someone bought me one for Christmas and now I would not trade it for anything in the world. I have several reasons for this and I will just cover them briefly below.

Cleaning is far easier

I had an old style coffee maker with one of those pots that seem to be near impossible to get your hand into to clean it. Also, since I only had one pot, I spent a lot of time in the evenings or early in the mornings when I would rather be asleep scrubbing it down. There is nothing worse than the flavor of old nasty coffee so I was really particular about having the pot clean. Since I would drink it every morning, I didn’t feel like it could go in the dishwasher. However, with this new one cup coffee maker I spend my time putting those cups in the dishwasher instead of washing them by hand. Also, with modern technology actually cleaning the one cup coffee maker is far easier too.

I like the savings

As mentioned above, I spent a lot of my time cleaning out old coffee in my old coffee maker. This essentially means that I constantly had coffee left over almost every day. This becomes wasteful in a hurry. Being one of the only ones in my house to drink as much coffee as I do, I still would not drink all of it. Probably almost half of every pot of coffee that was made would go down the drain. How wasteful is that? Now days, I only make exactly what I am going to drink. It has saved my pocket book a lot!

For me and me only

I was so impressed with the one cup coffee maker that I decided I would buy one for work. I had an old one there but the biggest problem is that everyone else was drinking my coffee too. I guess they assumed that since I was making so much of it, that it should become the community pot. Only a handful of people would pay for their cup of it. It did not really bother me too much, but I started thinking up how much money that was costing me. Now, since I am making only coffee for myself, I do not have to provide everyone else with it. That is just another side benefit at work to having the one cup coffee maker.

Coffee Maker Water Filter

Broken Coffee Maker! PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

About a year ago I Bought a new $ 30 coffee That is maker has a plastic reusable filter and makes one mug of coffee. That I know it wasn't expensive but I'm a full-time college student and I work as a dishwasher and another one Can not Afford right now. I add water to the coffee maker and push the button to start and it will brew and fill a little less Than a quarter of the mug. I Have to keep repushing the button to fill the Entire mug and Its pretty frustrating. Usually I just push the button, jump in the shower, get dressed and grab my mug and drink my coffee on the way to class. And now I Have to Stand There and keep pushing the button to get my full mug and by the time I'm heading out the door, the coffee is cold! Please help me fix it! I need my coffee or I can not stay awake in class!

PLZ HELP-why cant i get my coffee @ home to taste anything like outside drip-tried bottle water,EVERYTHING??

its a nice full pot Cuisinart filter drip maker,New filter,7-11 coffe,white vinigar,strong -weak—coffee has a bitter taste—i thought it was the water but now i dont—you have to make a weird face after a sip–chemicaly???????

I’ve never had 7-11 coffee so I don’t know if that has anything to do with it. But other than making sure you have a good quality coffee some things you can try is to add a pinch of salt to the coffee grounds when brewing to help cut down on the bitterness. Another reason why brewing coffee at home doesn’t quite give you the same taste as the stuff you buy is because most commercial coffee makers brew at a higher temperature than your coffee maker at home. A cheat to get closer to that taste is to grind your coffee a bit finer than usual.

COMMERCIAL’S THE BRIGHT SPOT

Increased Plan allocation for city & core push likely to boost real estate prices

The Real estate market in the City Beautiful is witnessing a revival, at least in the commercial space. Chandigarh, known to be one of the top test markets for retailers across India, had seen rentals in prime retail area — Sector 17 — in the heart of the city, fall by more than 60%.

Rentals dropped from Rs 800 per sq ft a year back to around Rs 250-350 per sq ft currently. The global slowdown had an equal impact on Chandigarh as it had in other metros in the country in terms of correction in rentals.

Large retailers such as Cantabil, Provogue, Annie Smith, Ethnic India have vacated showrooms as business was becoming unviable. Traders Association of Chandigarh general secretary JPS Kalra told ET: “More than 15 brands are about to shift from the piazza area here.” But smaller players expanded their retail footprint in locations that were earlier being rented out a very high prices. Venus Garments, makers of the UV&W apparel brand, has signed up for a 1,000 sq ft (super area) property at Centre Mall in the southern side of Chandigarh on 15% revenue sharing basis.

But real estate consultants Jones Lang LaSalle Meghraj (JLLM) says the present scenario looks more promising. “Fence-sitters are now looking at Sector 17 again, but they are cautious. The priority is viability and not competition like it was around a year or two back when companies were pushing themselves to expand,” says JLLM regional director Manoj Kashyap.

Ground floor rates in Sector 17 could touch a maximum of Rs 350 per sq ft and the first floor rates get lowered to Rs 300 per sq ft. Another prime area — Sector 35 — has a mix of space for food retailers and prices are only marginally lower than Sector 17. The likes of KFC, McDonalds, CCD and Barista have taken up large spaces in this sector where rentals have seen a slight drop. But there have been exits as well such as Costa Coffee which closed down its “unviable” outlet here. Retail rentals in the southern sectors, which have smaller showroom sizes, have dropped from Rs 60-65 per sq ft that was being offered a year or two back to Rs 45-50 per sq ft. This non-prime area, comprising sectors beyond Sector 35, has reasonable rentals but the small size of showrooms and the city administration not allowing conjoined showrooms has thwarted large retailers to set up shop.

Demand for office space is, however, stagnant and price per sq ft has also come down from Rs 75-80 to Rs 35-40 in Sector 17. for which the government had ambitious plans of making into a financial hub, has also seen a correction of 15-20%. Prices that were earlier touching Rs 45-50 per sq ft are now in the range of Rs 25-30 per sq ft. The industrial park at the eastern end of the city, land use guidelines for which were changed from industrial to commercial by the government, has made new commercial space available. Asking rates for it are going at Rs 45-50 per sq ft but demand is still not giving sales the much required stimulus.

The highlight for Chandigarh has and perhaps will always beprices for which range between Rs 2.5 crore per kanal (4500 sq ft) to Rs 3 cr, across the city. The northern Sectors of 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 that have bungalows and larger houses are on the higher side of the price spectrum while the southern sectors belong to the lower end, due to a large concentration of flats and apartments. Sectors such as 15, 16, 18 and 19 fall in the midsegment where prices can touch Rs 2.75 cr per kanal. The Union Budget announced an increase in Plan allocation of the city, which would be used for infrastructure projects such as the proposed Metro. This could perhaps give the required push to real estate in the city, especially on the retail front.

I can do Iced-coffee at home?

How am new and love iced coffee, and let me know if I can do at home, like you can do hot coffee? Im new to coffee, so they have a coffee machine lol but I love coffee has forgiveness!

I make mine on my magic bullet blender bit (you can do with a regular blender) i use instant coffee to it, just a teaspoon of instant coffee, a handful of ice, sugar if you want it and refill with skim milk .. blend until the ice is gone and put in a tall glass, top with whipped cream if you like;)

How do I make a GOOD cup of coffee?

I just have a Mr. Coffee coffee maker, right?
I never know how much coffee grinds to put in the filter,
Or how much milk or sugar to put in, either.
I know everyone has their own tastes,
But I don’t want it to end up too strong or not strong enough.

Not a dumb question at all. You would be amazed how many people have no idea the proper amount of coffee to use.

The easiest way to measure the right amount of coffee for a stardard pot is to just use a 1/2 cup measuring cup and go with that. If you like bold coffee you can go as high as 3/4 cup, but 1/2 cup is about 2 oz. of coffee which is pretty standard at places you would get coffee outside your house (Starbucks uses 3 oz. which is why their coffee is stronger).

Milk and Sugar are really added to your personal preference. A good place to start is a tablespoon of cream and a teaspoon of sugar and go up from there if necessary. I prefer fat-free Half & Half over Milk and Equal over sugar but go with what you like.
