While they are not even real coffee pods in the traditional sense, Green Mountain coffee pods are one of known brands out there. In reality, K-Cups. A Brief History of Green Mountain Coffee
With a name like that you could think that the company was rather old and from Ireland or something. In fact, Green Mountain Coffee was founded in Vermont in 1981. This makes them very new to the coffee world, especially with major companies that have existed since the mid 1800s. The company actually started as a small café in rural Waitsfield, Vermont, where coffee roasted and served. Not long before they began asking local restaurants to buy their fresh ground coffee to serve in their own establishments.
What Green Mountain makes it special?
In such a competitive industry, this company grew so fast is nothing short of amazing. So, how manage to make such an impact? Probably had much to do with his strange mix of selections and flavors. Since the large more or less than your average coffee decaf house blend and contained offerings such, these individuals were a completely different direction. Some of their blends are quite mundane, breakfast blend, roasted French, and "Our Blend" which is his version of the original mix, with more than 100 different coffees.
Your Pod Coffee and Green Mountain coffee
Unless you have a K-Cup Brewer Keurig, Green Mountain Coffee Pods not work on your machine pod coffee. This company does not, and probably need not conduct a more generic pod, as it fits in the Café housewives pod coffee. This is because they actually own Keurig. In fact, as Green Mountain bought Keurig in 2006, probably not a great exaggeration to say that is the reason for the success of K-Cups and Keurig brewers in general. If you are into making your own coffee pods, however, you can always buy your coffee to go loose on your machine coffee dose.
Does Green Mountain Doing something other than coffee?
While you may have to look below some of their labels, Green Mountain will produce other items than coffee. Their hot chocolates under the name Café Escapes, while their teas living under the name Celestial Seasonings. However, as with its cafes, they can only have the K-Cup, so unless you own or intend to buy one, you have to go with a different brand.
