A day in the life of a professional player

Those of us who like to bet, bet for many different reasons. You can bet only occasionally when as a form of entertainment. However, many people have aspirations to earn a living from gambling. I thought you might be inspired to understand the type lifestyle that awaits a successful bettor.

You can just like the occasional flutter, only to be sociable. Maybe you have a pound in the draw office for the Grand National once a year, just to add a little spice to the event. You can bet more regularly, to generate a useful income seconds afford the luxuries of life.

I earn my living as a full-time professional player. Today I have a few other business interests, but was only able to pursue these after to go full time as a professional ten years ago. The income I developed allowed me more time to seek other ways to make money.

I use the radio to come at seven o'clock every morning during the week. I have no get up, but I have taken the habit of arriving at my desk at a reasonable hour every day. This is a good habit to get in, but I must confess that sometimes I will repeat through up to eight listening to the radio. Not usually, though, as our three young boys do not let anyone found in a long time! I get to my office and turn on my computer to check the emails that have arrived during the night. 8:00
After answering some emails, check my calendar to remind myself what is for the day. I do not visit the areas of race that, more often, probably only two or three times a month. I have some breakfast and watch the kids in school. If it's a beautiful morning, I often walk to school with my wife. I'm usually the only dad there, and not sitting in traffic for me!

I try to keep fitness bike, so I often go out for a couple of hours in the country lane near our home in Tring in rural Hertfordshire. During the summer, is immensely satisfactory riding in the fresh air, the sun on the back, without the stress of corporate life in an office. I can spend time with my wife. Speaking as a man who hates busy shopping centers, shopping during the week when no one else is in the stores is a pleasure rather than torture.

Not a day spent in my wife and I will not have lunch together. If it's a simple pub meal or something a little above the market, eating out is something I really like it and are delighted that we have fortunately reservation only on Saturday nights.

Quite often in the afternoon watching the races you'll find me in my office. I have my own TV show plasma screen on the wall which also comes in handy if you want to see other sports, and a special soap on television and I am expelled from the room!

I can visit a race course a few times each month to watch the racing, especially when I have a particular interest in a horse that can be a bet with my VIP service.

I love to pick up our kids from school and talk with them about their day as we walked back home. We all feel like family to the dinner at five, not many families with mom and dad out at work are able to do. For me personally, this is one of the true blessings my career as a professional player has given me.

The feeling of freedom, not only financial freedom, but freedom of choice, is something that many people run their own businesses will appreciate. There is something rewarding to be in control of your life will give you.

Usually around six when dinner is over and my wife starts the process of baths and bedtime, I return to my office and focus on reaching my choice for the next day. Now the day is over, I can enjoy dinner with my wife, and maybe a glass of wine on the patio looking at the setting sun behind Chiltern Hills.
