Kitchen appliances save more time, effort than ever before
Seller: "This machine will cut your workload in half home!"
Housewife: "In that case, I'll take two!"
An old joke, but as the 21st century unfolds, it becomes more true than ever. Compared previous generations, people today can find working in the kitchen easier and even fun. The gadgets that compete for valuable space in the fight against kitchens across the country is ready to cut, dice, peel, mix, bake and broil in a way that would have astonished the great-grandparents of their respective owners.
A century ago, the idea of cooking, simply did not exist. There were vacuums manuals, and many houses had only one fridge, a sink and a sink with water cold, usually operated by a pump. Often the pump was outside the back of the house, or on the street for communal use. With the advent of electricity, the idea saving devices labor gradually took over. Fifty years later, refrigerators were replaced by refrigerators, which ended with the ice that have delivered. Toasters became one of the first devices anywhere in the home for consumption. One early counter machine seen in many homes was the starter Electric cans. Seen at the time as a frivolous novelty today is hard to imagine opening cans without them (Especially because no one can remember where the hand old crank starter). Following closely was the coffeemaker, taking over from the coffee sitting on a burner of the stove. And its close cousin, the kettle. Machines like the blender were developed for commercial use, and quickly found their way into domestic service.
The next great advance in technology the kitchen was a microwave oven in the 1970s. He went to the kitchen so the video went to the living room – revolutionary in itself, can now be seen as beginning of a whole wave of gadgets that are aligned next to the sink. Shortly afterwards, the market exploded with toaster ovens, sandwich grills, pasta makers, machines ice cream makers, yogurt makers, etc. This reached a zenith with the advent of the food processor. Viewed as a kind of complement the personal computer (also known as the word processor, since no one could think of any other use for a team in the days before the web), the kings of counter top blender combined grater, crusher, cutter, cutter and a few other things, all in one package.
Right on the heels of the food processor was the machine of bread. As the country longed for a healthier, more natural diet, something that could mix, knead and bake a staple foodstuff such as bread was seen as ushering in a new way of thinking about what we eat. Unfortunately, while many homes have bread machines today, few actually get any utility. The bread loaf pans are smaller than commercially sold, the mix makes the bread much more expensive, the machine needs cleaning after each loaf, and nobody wants to actually have more slice of bread. So not every step forward has been fully accepted by the masses.
The future for kitchen appliances, however, looks brighter than ever. In a world where the opener is next to the picturesque and modern non-stick grill, the next big revolution will be the interconnection all these devices to a home intranet. At the end of this century, most western kitchens may be a network hive of activity, as devices share information between themselves, larger equipment such as the oven and fridge, and even over the Internet. No doubt new machines will be introduced some bizarre hybrids of what we already we have, some as unknown to us as a microwave that have been in 1907. Our great grandchildren will laugh themselves as they ponder all the effort we put into butter toast or stir our coffee every morning. Are you ready for the kitchen of the future?
