Why you need to put cold water in the coffee?

I was advised not to use hot water in my coffee, but never told me why. Any knowledgeable input have for me? I use cold water now, but I would like to know why. Thanks!

Cold water is directly their source of water, hot water has been sitting in your hot water heater quit a while collecting minerals and rust that can alter the taste of coffee and accumulate faster on your machine. I use a Pur water filter to keep the excess dirt to a minimum. Still want to descale the machine regularly for keep it running at peak levels. Many machines do not heat enough water for the extraction of minerals and perfect accumulation make things worse, so and reduce the life of your machine. Cold water is always better when it comes to food (I run the water for a few seconds to clear the line), as same minerals can affect food taste.
