clean coffee machine?
I used to use straight vinegar to clean my coffee machine. I run it through twice and then run water through it. Never stopped to let the machine cool. Now I read to use less vinegar and let the machine cool. What is the purpose of cooling? Also, I noticed a thick solution, possibly mucus resembles vinegar on my machine. Is this the reason why let to cool in between cleanings? These are the steps I found online today: Add vinegar to the water tank to 1 / 4 full. Fill with water until full. Run the coffee maker. Turn off the machine, allow to cool for 10 minutes. Run the mixture of vinegar and water through the machine again. Let cool 10 minutes. Run tap water through the coffee maker, let cool 10 minutes, repeat. What is the mucus like substance in the machine? I noticed when I poured the vinegar seemed have some thick spots, probably from sitting next to my night light.
What do you recommend mine is as follows: Pour 6 cups vinegar in the tank. Turn on coffee maker. When vinegar begins to brew coffee in turn and let sit for 30 minutes. Finishing the brewing cycle and discard. Run 2-3 pots of water through rinsing. It says to dilute the vinegar, and never with any of my coffee makers. Let the vinegar sit for a while dissolves deposits scale in the coffee. Hope this helps.
